Berry Mews officially opens, creating new opportunities for people across Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire
Berry Mews is a purpose-built supported accommodation development from Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind.
Designed to provide safe, high-quality accommodation, alongside dedicated support services, Berry Mews will offer 26 suites for vulnerable people across the region – giving them a place to rebuild confidence, develop independence and access the support they need to move forward with their lives.
The official opening brought together supporters, partners, trustees and members of the local community to celebrate the completion of a project that will have a lasting impact on people facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.
Among those attending were representatives from CTT Private Client, whose fundraising efforts have contributed towards the development of Berry Mews and the facilities available within the building.
A place built around support and independence
Berry Mews has been designed to offer much more than accommodation.
Each resident will have access to a private, self-contained suite, providing a safe and comfortable environment while maintaining their independence. In addition, residents will be able to access tailored support designed to help them develop confidence, life skills and resilience as they work towards achieving their personal goals.
The development reflects Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind’s ongoing commitment to practical, person-centred support for people experiencing mental health challenges, creating a space where individuals can feel secure, valued and empowered.
During the opening event, guests heard directly from representatives of Mind about the vision behind Berry Mews and the positive difference it is expected to make to the local community.
A lasting legacy through Suite 21
For the CTT team, the day carried additional significance with the opening of Suite 21, a room dedicated to the memory of friend and colleague Tim Whitehouse.
Tim was a much-loved member of the CTT family and the dedication of Suite 21 ensures his legacy will continue through a project focused on supporting others during times of need.
CTT’s Director Bob Masey and Lucy Miles, Practice Manager attended the opening alongside Tim’s family, including his sister and three daughters, to mark the occasion.
Reflecting on the day, Bob said:
“It was wonderful to see the building, space and services provided at Berry Mews, and hear Mind speak about how they will help vulnerable people within our local community, at a time when they are most in need of this support.
Lucy and I were so proud to be representing CTT Private Client, whose efforts, along with many others, have directly helped fund this brilliant project. We know it’s a small drop in the ocean for what Mind does for those in need, and we shall continue to do our bit, the work doesn’t stop here.
It was a special moment seeing our own room opened, dedicated to our dear friend and colleague Tim, who took his life last year. We were honoured to attend alongside his sister and three of his daughters, plus best friend Budge of course, to remember Tim and what he gave to all those he met, who loved him and love him still.”
Looking ahead
While the ribbon has now been cut and Berry Mews officially opened its doors, the true impact of the project will be measured in the years ahead through the lives it helps transform.
For Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind, Berry Mews represents a significant investment in local mental health support and a commitment to ensuring people have access to the safe accommodation, guidance and encouragement they need to move forward.
For CTT Private Client, it is also a reminder of the power of community, partnership and the lasting difference that can be made when organisations come together behind a shared cause.
As residents begin to move into Berry Mews and access the support available, Suite 21 will stand as a lasting tribute to Tim Whitehouse, ensuring his memory continues to play a part in helping others find hope, stability and a brighter future.
