4 Years of Service

Current Position: Estate Planning Support Team Leader

Biography

With a degree in Law and a hunger for solving complex legal problems, Connor Boland was perfectly cut out for a career with CTT. His approachable nature and excellent communication help him effortlessly blend legal expertise with team leadership, while his affinity for learning has seen him add AI and IT skills to his impressive arsenal of talents.

Having always aspired to help others, young Connor had ambitions of becoming a vet. A love of English literature, history, and the TV show Suits, however, steered him towards the law and being called to the Bar.

While qualifying, Connor gained hands-on experience as a freelance County Court Advocate, attending hearings ranging from tenancy disputes to infant settlements. He also carried out pro bono work for Women’s Aid.

With a clearer understanding of the areas that interest him, Connor applied to CTT to gain a greater understanding of Trust law and become part of a well-oiled team.
Alongside deepening his knowledge of Trusts and honing his specialisms, including doing his STEP training, Connor’s time at CTT has opened his eyes to new challenges, like becoming Trust Management Team Leader, and mastering the art of computer programming while assisting with the development of CTT’s Adviser Chatbot.
Now, as Estate Planning Support Team Leader, he relishes the chance to apply lateral thinking to a variety of daily problems, both in assisting advisers with their cases and supporting team members to succeed, always with his sights set on achieving a common goal.

Connor’s advice: “Be approachable and open. Whether you’re communicating with clients or colleagues, approaching a situation with the aim of achieving a common goal is invaluable.”

Managing a large team means communicating with a variety of different people, each of whom will engage in different ways. Adapting to this, and ensuring that each individual reaches their potential, is a huge learning point.

When faced with tasks, map out what needs to be done, how long it will take, and how the best results can be achieved.

“The scale of the work that CTT undertakes has encouraged me in my career; it’s inspiring to be part of a company that strives to accomplish so much.”
