Within a matter of weeks, it was clear James’ hard work and commitment made him prime CTT material, so he was offered a permanent position in the Trust Management department. Here he began drafting loan documents and minuting trustee meetings, as well as checking investment advice and sending paperwork such as pension nominations and life assurance deeds of assignment.
At CTT, we’re keen on our employees learning more about the business and finding their calling with us; that’s why we offered James a co-ordinator role in another department. He soon built upon his communication skills, promoting CTT’s membership benefits to advisors and helping new members with matters such as setting up professional indemnity insurance and CTT’s Legacy software.
The training James has undertaken at CTT has broadened his horizons extensively and enabled him to become a highly qualified advisor himself. He’s steadily built his client base, advising on mortgages, protection, pensions, investments and equity release. As well as helping to grow the business, James now further supports the Private Client department by managing team members.
Halfway through his law degree, James realised that the standard solicitor route wasn’t for him. He didn’t want to trudge through applications for a training contract and go through the Legal Practice Course; he was eager to start working as soon as he graduated!
