When Mickey joined CTT as an Office Junior, our administration processes were predominantly paper-based. He did the essential tasks such as scanning, filing and posting, keeping the cogs of the CTT machine running smoothly and efficiently.
Having proven his hard-working nature and reliability, Mickey was soon promoted to a full administration role. This involved a step up in responsibilities like drafting, processing and storing legal documents. Mickey’s communication skills developed during this time as he liaised more directly with professional advisors answering the phone and responding to emails.
With his creative streak, it’s no wonder that when Mickey was given the opportunity to work in the marketing department, he flew with it. He enjoyed drawing upon his education in art and design to create marketing materials such as website templates and flyers, helping CTT advisors to promote their own businesses. His work in the marketing department also included maintaining the in-house data systems, where he showed a great aptitude for software that led him to his next role.
In 2012, Mickey joined CTT’s newly established systems department. His creative thinking helped him flourish and develop strong problem-solving skills that have benefited him both in and outside work. Plus, Mickey’s continued training in software and web development has turned him into a systems specialist.
2016 saw an exciting period of growth for CTT as we started development of our own purpose-built software from the ground up – and Mickey was the perfect fit for leading this team. During this time, his coaching and managerial skills have excelled as he’s overseen many projects from initial concept to fruition. He’s gained a strong sense of satisfaction seeing the department’s accomplishments in CTT’s software come to benefit our members.
