Role Overview
The Junior HR Administrator provides administrative support to the HR function within a legal services firm. Reporting to the HR Coordinator, this role is ideal for someone starting their career in HR, offering exposure to a wide range of HR activities while ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient day-to-day support.
Key Responsibilities
General Administration
- Maintain employee records and ensure HR systems are kept up to date
- File and organise HR documents (electronic and paper-based)
- Prepare basic HR letters and documents using templates
- Support data entry and routine administrative tasks
Recruitment Support
- Assist with posting job adverts and monitoring applications
- Schedule interviews and send candidate communications
- Help prepare recruitment paperwork
Onboarding & Employee Support
- Assist with onboarding processes, including preparing new starter packs
- Ensure right-to-work and other pre-employment documents are collected
- Respond to basic HR queries and direct more complex issues to the HR Coordinator
Absence & Records
- Update absence and holiday records
- Support the tracking of probation review dates
General HR Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR Coordinator
- Assist with HR projects and team activities when required
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- Some administrative experience (e.g., office, retail, or customer service environment)
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn and develop in an HR role
Desirable
- Interest in a career in Human Resources
- Basic understanding of confidentiality in a workplace setting
- Studying towards or interested in CIPD Level 3
